Q. What is cross-platform advertising? (300 words)

Throughout this essay I will be exploring factors about cross-platform advertising and what it’s all about. I also will be exploring what cross-platform is used for and where it is mainly used. The word platform refers to where you would see the advert which then brings to the attention that Cross-platform advertising is when you see the advert on more then one type of media.

Cross-platform advertising can also be known as cross media, which covers multiple media areas such as: TV, mobile, paid search and many more. Cross-platform advertising can make your brand more visible and acknowledged by using many platforms. For example Nielsen, who studies what consumers like and what needs fixing in markets etc so that it can catch their eyes, discovered that 85% of tablet and smartphone users use the devices when watching TV. This conveys the idea of cross-platform media, which can be very successful in advertising as it can have a higher chance in people seeing the brand/product but also reaches out to a large range of audiences which also achieves it's purpose of being sold. There are many cross-platform advertising campaigns where they can help with improving your advertising. They can also help with guiding you to pick the correct type of media, which will be most effective when thinking about who your target audience would be.

Concluding, I think that Cross-platform advertising is a successful way to advertise products as it keeps everyone updated with new things that may come out. However in our modern day society, different types of media is a great way as many people are into more on the go devices like smartphones / tablets etc which shows that they would have a higher chance of seeing the adverts then sitting at home watching TV.
