Meghan Trainer - Dear Future Husband 




“Dear Future Husband” by Meghan Trainor consists of many aspects, which shows how women are represented. For example it represents women as demanding, judging, feminist and many more. Her video consists of women and men however the whole meaning of this video is showing how Meghan (portraying most women) who look for that ‘Mr right’ by dating so many guys. It also shows how women are picky in what they like for example Meghan goes through a couple of guys who can cook, strong, goes out (does fun things), buys gifts etc because her lyrics states that she isn’t good in doing any of them. She shows that women can be harsh in a way where they reject the men due to their qualities (in other words their personality) in which doesn’t suit her criteria. This can also represent women as gullible in a way where they can easily think they have fallen in love for example there is a section where Meghan and two other girls see a guy who they think is ‘Hot’ and immediately invites him in to her house showing that he’s the one. However this part of the song can show how women can be represented as indecisive as the guy she chooses In the end is none of what she was listing in her lyrics, an example would be that he’s not the ‘sexiest’, strong built and that he is just a pizza guy showing that she contradicts what she has said before.

Looking closely at the music video Meghan Trainor represents women as housewives nonetheless she shows that she wouldn’t be good in fulfilling her role as a housewife. She conveys this by trying to cook but she ends up burning it and creates a big mess. One of a housewives duty would be to clean which Meghan doesn't take seriously towards the end of the music video. The clothes that are worn, especially when she's in the kitchen and cleaning the floors, also represents women roughly in the 60s when they were spending most of their time in the kitchen and cleaning as a typical housewife. On the other hand there is another point which contradicts the fact that she's showing the audience the role of an housewife which is that she begins to have no intentions of cleaning but mess around and spend time looking for the perfect guy that she looks for. In other parts of the video her clothes becomes more revealing and look more fitted which the audience sees through the extreme/medium close-ups, long shots and zooming in and out, it can also represent her feminine side showing that she is confident in what she is wearing. Thereally are many visual codes within this video, some would be the colours that consist in this would be the bright pinks, greens also not forgetting the pale colours in the kitchen enticing the audience in recongnising the 60s theme. Iconography has been used at the beginning for example there's a close up of 'childish' objects like a soft horse toy and a doll can show the purity and innocence in a child and how children can have big dreams (not so much about love but how every girl imagines how her dream wedding or perfect guy would be like).

                            My 60 second video about me                               This is a short video that shows pictures and a few clips of what I like doing and what I have previously done. I included images like what types of foods I like which also shows my culture as a Turkish Cypriot. I included pictures of what types of sports I did and my memorable experience, which was going to paintballing with my family, which I highly recommend as a family activity. Analyising Film Posters and Film Trailers  This film poster advertises the new film, Identity Thief. Within this poster there are a multiple use of colour and lightning especially showing the split scene. This shows the contrast in many ways, one being the lighting of the photos, the female has loads of colour within her outfit and by far looks more happier then the male on the left. Secondly the contrast of colour for the male is more dull and unlike the females happy expression the male actor has a more harsher and confused look. The layout and design is not like most posters where for example there may be a key figure alongside a landscape behind. The font and typography can be described as quite thick, bold, and big. They only consist of a minimum of 3 colours, white, grey and yellow.
